Alphonsa School Sweeps CBSE District Handball Tournament
Thamarassery: Alphonsa English Medium School, Thamarassery, clinched the championship in all four categories at the Kozhikode District CBSE Schools Handball Tournament held on Thursday. The tournament was organized under the leadership of Malabar Sahodaya, with 14 schools from across the district participating.
In the Under-14 Boys’ final, Alphonsa outclassed Bee Line Public School, Kuttikkattoor, with a commanding 12-goal victory. Vadi Rahma School, Kodiyathur, finished third.
In the Under-14 Girls’ category, Alphonsa edged past B Line Public School 4–3 to secure the title, while KP Choyi Memorial School, Kunnamangalam, claimed third place.
In the Under-17 Girls’ division, Alphonsa defeated Dayapuram Residential School 6–4 to lift the trophy, with Bee Line Public School finishing third.
In the Under-17 Boys’ final, Alphonsa triumphed over Dayapuram Residential School 11–6, while Bee Line Public School secured third place.
Individual awards were also presented: Hari Madhav, Hanna Rose, and Christina Joseph (Alphonsa), along with Musayid Aadhi Khadeer (Dayapuram), won Best Player trophies. Rishan Muhammed and Haya Isbin (Bee Line), Muhammed Nahan (Alphonsa), and Isa Kadheeja (Dayapuram) were recognized as Best Goalkeepers. Muhammed Izaan and Gauri (Alphonsa) received trophies for Promising Players.
